NEVER CAGE WHAT GOD INTENDS TO FLY —– Victory Over Depression
I often say, “We must die daily to our flesh so the resurrected life and love of Jesus can flow within us and through us.”
This is so true; His life is liberating and life-transforming. Many other Christians and I are living proof of this principle.
However, when someone else has control over an individual, only danger looms. Usually this danger includes verbal and emotional abuse, put downs, comments that the individual cannot do anything or will never amount to anything. Their wings that are ready to fly are now clipped, usually causing severe wounds. These wounds can even seem fatal, like death itself. The person becomes hopeless; she will never be free as long as the abuser consistently cages her and puts her down. (I am sure this is how African-American slaves felt during hundreds of years of bondage.)
Yet, God will never be caged. Eventually and only by His grace, you will fly because your new nature is God Jesus Himself. God mounts you on His wings and you fly with Him way above all your hurts and death. You begin to see life from above, through God’s eyes seated in the heavens.
Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”
Also, read how the apostle Paul wants us to be convinced that
(1) our flesh is dead,
(2) to leave it dead, and
(3) to fly high, alive in Christ, in heavenly places.
You are no longer caged because you are in Christ and Christ is in you.
Ephesians 2:4-10 “But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Fly high, brethren. Why do you keep your heart locked in a cage?
Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
