VICTORY OVER DEPRESSION – Personal Reflection For You
Based on my blog entries of My Personal Victory Over Depression –
Do you see the complete victory over depression (and all trials) that awaits you? Adverse circumstances will always occur. The circumstances I just shared are very overwhelming. They could very easily persuade me to go back into depression.
But, I CHOOSE NOT TO. That is the major difference with overcoming depression.
Jesus has so changed the way I think that I now respond with wisdom and live above my circumstances. (Many times the wisdom is just plain “common sense.”) The road still hurts; it is the narrow road to Calvary. Beyond, though, is His resurrection to experience – His love and His life more frequently and more abundantly. There is nothing more joyful than experiencing Jesus’ love and life everyday.
Your victory awaits. My personal experience is living proof that you will have your complete victory over depression. Go for it, brethren. I Thessalonians 5:24 “Faithful is He that calleth you, Who also will do it.” Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He what hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
II Corinthians 4:3-12 summarizes the evidence of my victory over depression by Jesus growing me out of blind darkness into His light of love. It truly was permitting the light of the love of Christ to take over my life once I became fully aware that Satan had sublety blinded me from seeing Jesus living in me now.
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.”
